At over 300kph the Benetton wents on to the grass and veers right into and over Irvine, hitting Brundle as it goes. A rear wheel of the car actually hits Martin's helmet but everyone emerges unscathed.
The FIA penalizes Irvine with a 1-race ban and a 10000$ fine. After Jordan appealed the decision, the ban was increased to 3 races.
